National Housing Federation visit to Sapphire

Our Conway House and Bethany House teams recently hosted a visit from one of the National Housing Federation’s (NHF) External Affairs Managers.

Sarah-Jane Gay from the NHF recently paid a visit to two of our supported schemes in Kilburn and Islington to meet with our CEO, Heather Thomas, to discuss Sapphire's strategic overview and how as members of the NHF we can work with them to prepare for the future, shape policies and meet current challenges within the sector and meet with our teams and residents.

The day commenced at Conway House where Sarah-Jane joined their team handover and a review meeting with one of the schemes support agencies. Sarah-Jane was then given a tour of the building and met our ETE Coordinator at our Training Resource Centre (TRC) to discuss the resident engagement, training and development opportunities available to residents.

Sarah-Jane then moved on to Bethany House where again she joined a team planning meeting to help her understand more about our approach to PIE and how it is helping to reduce evictions, as well as resident inclusion and diversity and the CSE approach to repairs. Her day was finished off with another tour of the scheme where she could meet with residents and the rest of the team.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with Sarah-Jane, she really enjoyed the day and even sent us a message saying the following -

Very lucky to have spent yesterday with Sapphire. Amazing services, ambitious vision, and the friendliest staff.

We hope that everyone enjoyed meeting her. We will be having another visit from the NHF this coming February. Watch this space to find out more.
