About Bethany House

Bethany House was acquired in 2002 from the YWCA and is a women only service. The scheme provides 60 supported bed spaces and 33 short-term accommodation bed spaces. Residents share bathroom and kitchen facilities and there are two communal rooms with Wi-Fi access.

Referrals to Bethany House supported beds are via Islington Supporting People Team. Short-term accommodation applications are accepted via emailing a completed application form to or in person at the scheme.

Bethany House work with a number of agencies and charities offering a variety of education and training opportunities for younger service users:

  • New Horizons- Work with 16-21 year olds who've become homeless. They provide everything from training and employment, counselling, drug and alcohol support, health, fitness, art, music and communication skills workshops
  • Street League- supports unemployed 16-24 year olds to move into sustained employment using the power of sport.
  • Alone in London- an employment support service for young people aged 18-25 who are not currently in employment and/or need housing support
  • Key Changes- provides music engagement and recovery services in hospitals and the community for young people and adults experiencing mental health problems.
  • Young Creatives Projects at the Round House- short courses and training in music production for service users, up to 25 years of the Paul Hamlyn Roundhouse Studios.
